After a long night correcting the codebase for a new Web 3.0 Meme Sock Generator, you left work before the morning traffic hit. As the sun peaked over the skyline, you meandered your way through the streets, looking at the morning scenery: trees, mailboxes, lesbians making out at the park. That last one held your fancy for a while, and then.... things turned strange.

... Anyway, long story short, now you're an infant on a never-ending quest. As you grow, you'll encounter good people, bad people, strange people, cat people, elf people, god-type people... and then you'll die. And then you'll start again. But this time it'll be different. You've learned some things, after all. That damn chicken can't boss you around forever.

Rewind v0.3.4 Changelog
Additions:
- The Affection System is now in place. Interactions will earn the player Affection Points, and certain relationship statuses and events are locked behind these points. Information is available in the hints section of the mirror screen.
- Various small scenes have been added as affection milestone rewards.
- An additional threesome scene has been added into the poly relationship progression for players using the Dungeon Tent.
- Versions of the conversations surrounding Lani's racial curse have been expanded to include the Polyamorous Route.
- The Polyamorous Route now includes choice scenes to allow the player to opt in/out of group scenes (in most circumstances).
- There's now a pop-up to notify the player of a change in relationship status.
- Two new titles have been added: 'Affectionate' and 'Fire Resistance'. You can stir that pot, baby.
- Soul Box level 9 has been added (but no new items are in the game, so it's a bit of a slog trying to activate this one... I'll add more items in the next version).
- Variations on dialogue have been added for many every-day scenes and story events to account for learned knowledge, affection level, title variations, and romantic continuity.
- Mister Bacon.

Changes:
-  Auto-battle no longer requires a one-turn wait.
- The enemy version of Lani (the one you fight in order to party together) now levels up once every 10 days that she is not in your party.
- The Settings Menu has been expanded to include animation skip toggles (using the in-game cog button).
- Poison and Fire points are now displayed in the general mirror stats window.
- Lani can now be recruited without joining the Adventurer Guild first (requires Cat Person level 6).
- Event triggers have been modified to make use of the new Affection System, and the hints have been altered to specify when affection points are required.
- Added in-battle buff icons for food buffs (defense, attack, crit).
- Dungeon rewards are now 'discovered' when chosen, even if the player cannot utilize them.
- Food buffs in dungeons now last longer (based on Battle Junky title proficiency).

- Alterations in text and menus have been added to facilitate abnormal play-styles (title avoidance, skill avoidance, etc). Go on and break it; I'll forgive you if you tell me how you did it.
- Emergency healing in the dungeons now allows the player to choose every possible option and utilizes skill healing calculations to determine heal amount.

- Threadbare is now available even if players do not have the money to purchase clothing, and the purchase option has been added to purchase Lani's sundress outside of the date.

Corrections:
- The Dungeon Tent now correctly heals your party after use.
- Potions used in battle now count towards Potionista title.
- Battles fought while 'wandering' inside dungeons after finding the boss door will now correctly count down the Dungeon Tent timer.
- The scheduler now correctly removes viewed threesome events so that the player doesn't get too tired.
- Watching Lani climb the tree on the same night that Clarice informs the Palace that you have found the clues no longer skips the palace event.
- Corrected an uncommon error that removed learned recipes after a rebirth.
- Corrected some calculation errors with attack and defense food buffs.
- Some movies were incorrectly named and skipped by the game (Lani's final sneak animations).
- Corrected some movies which defaulted to a blank screen after playing once.
- A negative money glitch has been corrected.
- Cock-a-trice enemies are now correctly counted in the kill lists.
- Corrected error that placed the targeting icon over non-existent enemies at the beginning of fights.
- Corrected error that caused player characters to be invisible at the beginning of fights.
- Corrected a rounding error when Lani is defending magical attacks. Defending no longer gives her negative magic defense.
- You are now paid for your patrol work on days when you find a clue.
- SO. MANY. TYPOS.

v0.3.4.3 Changelog (minor revision):
- Ren'Py Sync has been enabled. You can now sync saves between various devices.
- Replay gallery not unlocking some scenes has been corrected.
- Replay gallery triggering errors in the dungeon and during some of Marla's content has been corrected.
- Choice menus have been added to Dungeon Replays to allow players to choose their variable values (mind protections, virginity, etc).
- An uncommon error related to not exploring has been corrected.

Sexy fun can be had in a beautiful, intriguing, and self-consistent fantasy world. Uncover centuries of family mysteries; meet Gods of every shape, size, and felt style; kill chickens with vastly overpowered magical attacks!

does anyone know how or where to get cherry jelly? im having a hard time getting some

Certainly. All of the jellies are drops from slimes, and the fruit jellies are from the various giant slimes. Cherry is specifically the Giant Red Slime, which is only a dungeon boss mob.

Locations:

-Bosses in Temple of the Fallen, Sold to the Highest Bidder, Trial by Fire.

does it drop from chests lik the blueberry and lemon-lime jelly?

(1 edit)

so i have a question, i have beaten Lani multiple times in sparring but for some reason it doesn't allow me to unlock her to join my team.

Did i do something wrong?

And also when i enter the clothing story it tells me I'm looking at the breeze but doesn't allow me to buy anything

You'll need to become an adventurer before you can invite Lani (the first time... eventually, the option will be available to not be an adventurer while still inviting Lani to your party). After your first quest, Martin will mention that you probably want to be in a party, at which time you'll be able to invite Lani.

Threadbare is sort of a shell of a store. The only clothes you can buy in the shop are for lani, and only the ones from the story content. Right now, it's just a way for players to buy things they couldn't afford to buy during the date.

Existing store content:

- group date with Lani and Marla (default scene + possible extension if on poly)

- Lani solo (triggers if Lani's had sex and date is over 150)

- Lani date v2 (triggers if you saw the group date and then triggered Lani's date)

I seem to have hit a snag with the 3.4.2 update.  In 3.3.6, the materials for the Dungeon Tent were for sale at the merchant stall in town during the early days of each loop.  Now, the only thing he's selling at that time is skill books; even if I buy those out, he switches to the weaponry at some point, and... that's it.  180 days in, and his selection hasn't refilled or changed.

Did I miss out on the Veil of Omens for good, or is it now in some high-level dungeon that I'll have to grind my tits off to beat?  I've got the cash to purchase it by this point, simply from a decent Soul Box level and plenty of farming - but the merchant isn't selling it anymore, nor any of the other materials.

It is available in the 4star dungeon, yes. It's a rare drop from the rare chests. But you can still buy it; rather than on early days, the merchant sells tent materials on days that end on zero (so 10, 20, 30, etc).

Just got the game this update. Literally in love with the game. I know that it won't be any time soon. But when will the next update be? Also, will progress transfer over into new versions of the game as they come out?

(1 edit)

I downloaded the demo, played through most of it, then sprang for the newest update.  My progress carried over just fine.  Like all Ren'Py games, the saves are stored in a separate folder from the game files themselves, so deleting the game folder and unzipping the newer version in its place is the way to go.  (Simply unzipping them on top of the extant installation is a good way to bug out a game - don't do this.)

As with any game development, the answer to "will my saves carry over?" kind of ends up being "it depends," simply because backend changes or major revisions can make using old save data difficult and artifacts from earlier versions can get baked into an old save.  However, at the moment, saves seem to be working fine.

One of my primary goals with every update is to maintain save compatibility (I'd rather increase production time than lose existing saves). There are times when old saves will miss new content (for example, I plan to alter and expand the prologue in this next version), but those changes will be noted, and will more than likely be available in the memory viewer.

SPOILERS AHEAD. Play the game, it good.

I am a big fan of this game, and have been keeping up with it since it was first put here on itch. I love it your writing is absolutely hilarious and the ideas on display throughout are very creative while still being spins on old tropes.

That being said I want to provide some constructive criticism. I want to be clear that I am not attempting to be mean, I really want this game to keep going forward, and I want it to be as good as possible.

Writing:

I really enjoy it, so not much criticism here. My only concern is you write a lot of dialog referencing the fact the game is unfinished. As the game continues to be developed these stop being witty remarks and instead out of place references to systems that exist.

Story:

This is where problems start to rear their head, namely everything feels very disconnected to everything else. There are several different story lines going on that seem to have nothing to do with one another. This can work, especially when with our reincarnations we could end up resolving each of these far quicker in future lives due to some foreknowledge or titles. The problem is that that means you are going to need to make content for each of them, and it will be difficult to drag the game towards any sort of ending.

Lets look at what storylines we have going on.

1. Lani, the Cat Girl Curse, and the Academy

2. The Prince/Princess and the Stuff Around Town

3. The Succubus Dungeon

4. Martin and Improving the Guild

5. Flora and Learning Potions

6. The Goddess of Time and How We Got Our Gift

7. Whatever the Hell is Going On With The Clothing Store

8. Presumably, whatever the next death event is.

There is a lot here, and it is possible that a lot of it will play into other parts. That is why I bring all of this up, right now they still can be made to play into each other, and so far, they haven't. You put a lot of time and effort into The Succubus Dungeon and all of its events, but we can see it now in a completed state, completely disconnected to any other set of events. You need to consider if these things can handle being this far apart from each other, and if the time and effort put into the Succubus Dungeon is reasonable to put into each of them, especially Lani, the Cat Girl Curse, and the Academy, which seems to demand much more.

This disconnection also applies to the affection system, with it feeling very tact on top of the previous events, making me unable to progress until I have Marla tell me I am too stupid to talk to right now for 30 more days.

Skilling and Combat:

I am putting these two together because they are irreparably intertwined. Simply put, combat is boring, there is no strategy, and there is only one way to get stronger.

Nowhere else to put it so ima just put this here, the chicken is just too weak now. In previous versions being unable to kill it was quite likely on your first run, but with the automatic training the first few days (A great system that really makes you feel like you are stronger), it is almost certain you will be able to kill it. The chicken just needs flat some better stats.

Combat is really simple. It is a flat check how high your numbers are. Throughout my playtime there has been literally 1 instance where I felt actually challenged to beat an enemy, and that was trying to kill a metal slime while at level 10 in order to get a better challenger title. Trained stats contribute far too much to your combat stats. The fact is every enemy regardless of what abilities you give them are the exact same to the player, do I have a high enough stat line to one shot them. There is no whittling down a tough enemies HP, because of how damage is calculated, you are either going to obliterate them in a single hit, or do nothing. There is no in between. This is the key problem, and it leads to the others.

Gear is useless. The best weapon will add maybe 5% to your damage, and later in the game less than 1%.

Lani is useless. Her stats are so low even with a high rank of Cat Person that she is only ever going to kill an enemy so weak that they would never come close to hurting you.

Magic is pointless. (outside of metal slimes) everything in the sneak tree is dependent on pure RNG whether you can get crits/evades, and everything in the light tree is just hit harder. It isn't until rank 7 of the light skill where you get any ability that isn't just do 50% more damage than the last rank. Your MP grows so ridiculously fast that there is no way you are ever gonna run out of it unless you actively try to.

Cooking (outside of double D soup) is useless. There are all these recipes you can make, but none of the effects are worth using. Double D Soup is useful for progressing Lani faster, but everything else requires ingredients far to rare to be worth using, or accomplish nothing.

If I were to give any specific suggestion for how to fix these problems, I would say to change your damage formula to bring things to a bit more of a normalized range.

Thanks for reading my rant, I really hope you continue to work on this game, and you can make it even better.

(+1)

This is all very constructive; I really appreciate it. I'll address some concerns that are related to my immediate plans.

Most plot lines not involving the town (or Threadbare) are connected to Lani. I'm planning to expand that in the next update,  but they aren't intended to be truly connected until much later.

I have some skills intended to introduce some additional strategy. There's a defensive skill tree that focuses on nullification and reflection, and a thunder skill tree for aoe and stun. They're technically in the code, but they have no animations and haven't been tested, but you can see them if you take a look three player skills *.tsv file. They're intended to be introduced at the academy. That said, I agree that combat is wonky. This is largely because of stat training... my solution was to make a stat's influence scaled with level, so a level 1 was soft-capped in combat regardless of stat value, but until the time at home is limited, there will always be a way to just bulldoze enemies.

I'm going to greatly increase equipment availability in the next one. Like... greatly. It's something I've been putting off because I wanted it to coincide with some other improvements.

I'll be writing a devlog about the next update soon. It's intended to address a lot of the things you've mentioned and upgrade the overall polish of the game.

Thanks again for a wonderful critique!

So the dungeons, exploration, and the clothing store are not included in the free version

The free version includes pretty much everything (dungeons, exploring, shop, etc). The affection system is the majority of the premium update, and the rest is a long list of quality of life improvements and bug fixes.

Deleted 12 days ago

The shop opens at or around day 150 (the girls will talk about it). The default is for the girls to take you together, but if you're on Lani's solo route, Lani will take you alone. After you've been to the shop, it will appear on your map (but it's not currently a fully functioning shop).

(1 edit) (+1)

Downloaded the free version. Played till dad threw snakes at the MC to train agility, almost killed myself laughing, and bought the game. Thank you so much for this game! It has a huge potential for even more greatness. Can't wait for future updates.

Is there a limit to how much experience you can get from a single battle? I got the exact same experience for Lani for both the level 9 and 10 cat person title while doing the exact same thing.

There is no limit on per-battle experience (it can go quite high). The confusion is probably because the cat person title doesn't increase Lani's experience; it increases her stat growth per level.

can you say more about the "over 2,000 unique character interactions" is like procedural generate??

The procedural generation is the dungeon layouts (monsters, turns, doors, etc). Its 'semi procedural' because each dungeon is purposefully themed and named. The character interactions inside the dungeons are largely dialogue events that I spent *way* too much time writing. I wanted the dungeons to not be boring, so there are a ton of things the characters will do or talk about to lighten the mood, based on party composition, known event triggers, inventory items, romance, etc.

I keep running into this crash, and i can't seem to be able to buy any clothes from the clothing store

I'm sorry you're having this issue, and I appreciate you letting me know. Can I get the full traceback on this one? (you can use the 'copy markdown' option and paste it here. Or, alternatively, the bottom of the error message will probably include what I need.

Without that, I can speculate.

This isn't an error sequence I've seen before, so I'm inclined to say that it's either something specific to your game or an issue with the install. It could be an unexpected event sequence or maybe an error related to getting into the clothes shop without the expected variables... in that case, it would correct itself with a rebirth. The other likeliest scenario is that something simply didn't fully transfer from the zip file onto your computer... sometimes the transfer is stopped early by an outside process (or a cat walking on the escape key or whatever) and the game runs just fine until it finds the file that didn't finish. In that case, a fresh install will solve the problem.

I rebirthed and it went away, it was related to a scene in the forest as I was farming for wood. Apparently, I'm not getting the second visit to the store even after almost 200 days. Unless I'm missing a pre-event or trigger for it.

I'm glad a reset worked. The store visits that are currently avaliable are lani solo, lani/Marla (default if you aren't currently with lani), and a variation on the Lani solo visit that happend if you've seen the lani/Marla version and then unlocked the Lani solo version (sleeping with lani and having enough money for the date are the triggers).

The Marla solo and marla-after-lani versions are not currently in the game.

(1 edit)

Hello I've been unable to get some of the scenes but the one that annoys me is the first one for marla it says: To impress her with my knowledge on plants and I cant figure out how, any help please ?

Edit : Nvm I got it, but just a thought can you make or have someone make a walkthrough you know just written out not anything big.

Hi, mate, thanks for playing. This one is supposed to be part of the standard Marla progression if you only interact with Marla (so no other events are triggered... no Lani romance, no meeting Miri, just Marla).  that said, I've heard some other questions on this,  so I feel like either the hint is too ambiguous or the scene isnt triggering properly. (Which version are you playing, btw? Usually these things wouldn't change, but all of the trigger points have been altered in the premium version)

The route: speak to Marla when available (avoid Lani). The turning points are when Liam asks about the rain, and when Marla explains how she's been caring for her plant experiment. If you've seen the conversations with Marla and Luna in the library (about the royals), you're on the right track.

The android download option is a zip file and when i rename it to apk it shows that it is harmful file, plz fix

Hi, mate. Itch.io puts the apk inside of the downloaded zip file, so you'll need to extract it rather than rename. The file should be named 'com.domain.rewind-3.3.6-international.apk' (all versions should have the same name aside from the version number). Let me know if it's still giving you an error (other than the usual 'are you sure you want to install from an unknown source' message... I can't do anything about that one unless Google starts allowing porn into the play store).

A suggestion for your game page. White text on white background isn't really good for the handicaps who can't see well but still wants to try the game.

The background should be a woodgrain table... maybe clear browser cache and reload the page? If that doesn't help, can you let me know what browser you're using so I can take a look?

I am using chrome. here is what I see.

I had intended to work on this today, but there was a bit of a family emergency. The text is supposed to be black in that section... not entirely sure why it's not showing correctly for you,  but I'll definitely look at the site code tomorrow and get that corrected. I appreciate the heads up.

Hope there are Chinese subtitles

Translations are one of those things that I desperately want to do, but I'm not confident in the quality of AI translation tools (and coordinating and paying for human translation isn't currently possible). Our German translation is very generously provided by a fan, and if anyone else is interested is helping out with a different language, that would be welcomed with open arms.

This game uses a lot of English puns and fantasy terms/names that AI generally has some trouble handling with consistency. Part of me believes that a low quality AI translation is better than nothing, but another part of me believes that giving players a version that is sub-par will lead to negative first impressions.

I welcome outside opinions on this topic.

Is this game story completed?

not even close lo

The game crashes every time I open the inventory after like 5 seconds, without fail every time. Is this just me or does anyone else have the same problem? (Im on Android.)

(2 edits) (+1)

How to feed rooster "meat" to family? Do I need the cooking supplies?

Replying a little late (many apologies). Feeding the chicken to your family is a story event that unlocks at Alektorophic level 10 ('chicken immunity'). It triggers if you've captured and eaten all of the other chickens prior to day 30 (this is a scene with Marla that is available once  every 4 days in the evenings).

0.3.3.6 What's new now that the 2025th is out?

(+1)

Is there a discord? I want to join

when traveling is implemented you could do a vigilance title that at first lowers ambush odds and slightly counters stealth until level 10 where it would idk make you ambush enemies instead while traveling and give a party wide buff when you ambush of like 50% physical damage or bonus drop chance/experience

uh i cant seem to open the current version as it gives me a error once i open the game

Ok with the upgraded tent i can't get the game to give me anything but single rout with Marla. Also if you sleep with Lani in the upgraded tent the game doesn't realize it or recognize anything  through context or reactions from other characters. There is no more scene with them conforming they are in it together or anything like that. The Scenes with the girls together just stop and all you get is Marla.

Not sure if my game is bugged or not... At around day 154 me and Lani went to the clothing store (on a date) She mentioned coming back with Marla it's now day 196 and that still hasn't happened.

I'm fairly sure most of my post are skipped over, that's fine, though I had two intriguing thoughts one I've mentioned before about adding flame resistance, would help with fire pits, flame arrows, flame boulders and of course a certain camp scene.  The other was...Of you are in a dungeon and die from a poison pit or arrow trap or boulder trap does it count as being killed by poison and unlocks the poison resistance title or do you have to actually die by eating poisoned food?

Sprinting cucumber , I pointed this out before so I'm a

Assuming you either missed the comment or for some reason decided not to update the game accordingly so here is a contradiction...

Suggestion for Dev if you are really worried about the whole meals then why not have it where they actually can't be learned until you reach a certain level of cooking. I mean after all in real life you wouldn't necessarily be able to make a complex meal with just a recipe heck some people can't even cook scrambled eggs right even with a recipe.

Show me a SINGLE RPG that is not repetitive...lol. Everyone of them is kill this get stronger level up, fight this new stronger opponent, getting that one, move to next hardest...  Besides there is Actually a lot more to it, love, sex, succubus... And becoming so overpowered that a level 1 character can jump to level 5 after killing that chicken also... It's beyond funny, lots of humor and even 4th wall breaking., here's a beginner tip... First don't sell anything after the first time you die. When your inventory gets high enough you'll probably get a special little treat.  After you get money buying and selling especially potions will eventually make it where you can become a millionaire

Thanks

No problem.  I love finding things out about games... Though I might should have used a spoiler tag...

I got a question when are going to be able to hunt down slimes and other creatures for the adventure guild. That way we get materials to unlock dungeon doors.

im in heed of some help ive looked in the game files and there are scenes i have yet to see in game play i dont have access to discord for help can anyone send me a guide please

Very Nice game.
In the Version 0.3.3.3 give it a bug in Dungeons if you play in German.
Every Time you find a locked door where the paiment is money it comes to an error....

I started playing a couple days ago and this has quickly become my favorite game.

I think i mess up my file, did a life without recruiting Lani, to be a partner or adventuring buddy. Now i can't fight anything with Lani in the party without an error.

So, I see the new version has been uploaded to Patreon. Does anyone have any idea how long the delay is until we get it on Itch as well?

Assuming that anyone that bought it from Itch counts the same as 5 dollar patreon members? The 12th. Otherwise I'd assume at most two weeks, which would be the 22nd/23rd.

If it was updated the 9th on patreon, why do the people who paid on itch io have to wait a few more days?

One of the perks for the higher tier patreon subscribers is one week early access. Also I have heard the first release of an update often has bugs and crashes that need patches and he tries to get a stable build before he releases it here.

(1 edit) (+2)

52 days ago was his last update that was back in August, in the last update he mentions that he plans to release a test in September which was last month so since there was hurricanes and stuff like that recently I'm wondering if the guy's okay has any of his testers heard back from him since that last post?

(-1)

His last patreon post was on September 30th and while I can't see all of it, the first line says he underestimated the amount of scenes he had to do for the coming update.

(+3)

Well I'm glad to hear that he's okay.

How or where can i find things like a recipe list or what things i need to grind to earn certain  titles? Like the Cat person title for example

What titles exactly? Also Maxing Cat Person requires Lani to be at or above level 100 at death. I don't think it's actually possible to get right now, but if you were to go for it, you'd have to grind the hardest dungeon for ages.

I really like this game, I'm playing since the 0.3.2.4 update. I'm excited for the next update >:3

Hey my friend i am very big fan of your creation, i would like to suggest 3 titles for the next update, not much for the effect of them but for the text that comes with them which i find interesting, with this i think we would have 35 titles in total which you could make another talk when they just get to know how much we have, First title is lvl 1 RESILIENT MIND or something u get this title after training when you train after your brain cant get anymore intellect because its tired this would affect the rest of intellect allowing you to get more rest every time u dont train it for the day, RESILIENT BODY lvl 1 this would be the same but for body trainings, Last one, every adventure, mission dungeon you go without using any potion will activate this title REGENERATION, you will heal a small amount of hp after every battle, the evolved should be like IMMORTAL or something thank you cucumber i love your game.
