Version 0.3: Dungeons
It's been a long time! I hope everyone is doing well.
First, I need to go into financial stuff, just a little bit. I know that a lot of you have chosen to play the game on Itch.io because this is the least expensive option to support me and see the latest version. I really appreciate every single penny that comes in because of this project, and I do mean every penny, since it's not like I'm burning dollar bills to keep my Lambo warm at night or anything. The Itch.io version of Rewind was intended to be a per-version cost, so players could snap up the most recent version if they wanted without feeling obligated to step into a subscription model (like Patreon). Because the Itch.io pay model seems to not be that (I don't understand, since I have it as a per-file payment and the files are different... whatever), I've increased the price from $2 to $5. I know that many of you who have been who have been playing on this version in particular are impacted by this change due to current exchange rates, inflation, and all of those bad words that are rolling around in the international economy right now. Because of that, I've gone ahead and sent out gift codes for people who have purchased the game previously. They went to whatever email was used here on Itch.io. You're free to use them, gift them, or stare at them lovingly.
There! Now, a quick game update. This newest version has been a long time coming, but it's also pretty extensive, so I'm hoping that all of you will cut me a tiny bit of slack (I have 20k lines of new dialogue in here...). Version 0.3 is the final of the large 'system' updates and releases the last of the major elements of the game: Dungeons. Ooooooooooh. This version has both a story dungeon (which is intended to kill you a few times until you've met all of the story requirements), as well as a series of wild dungeons that exist in the overworld exploration map. It's still a work in progress, and there are certainly many improvements that are left to be made, but I hope that you enjoy it.
Rewind v0.3.0.5 Changelog:
Additions:
- Story Dungeon 1 added to main storyline (accessed at home after chicken is dead, requires level 10+).
- Dungeons added to exploration (11 total).
- 17 new enemies added to fill dungeons.
- 24 new items added to fill dungeons.
- 5 new titles
- 7 new animations
- Soul Box can now upgrade to level 7.
- 5 new recipes (with no added effects at this time).
- 1 new flag
Changes:
- Chance to find items in explorations now increases by 1% every day.
- Additions and optimization for the battle code.
- Soul Box now sells any item in your inventory not placed into the soul box at your death (the money transfers into Soul Wallet at the stipulated rate).
- Some early title levels are now more difficult to obtain (not by a lot).
- Increased the scaling values of level ups.
- Capped the bonus xp given by enemies higher level than the player (maximum calculated level difference is now 10).
- You can now throw away food that is not poisonous.
Corrections:
- Extensive corrections have been made to the call/return stack. This corrects a variety of instability and save file issues.
- The bonus from the 'Adventurer' title (from God Ragus) is now applied correctly.
- Having the tent upgrade no longer blocks unseen Lani content.
- Lani's 3rd level of massage content is no longer erroneously blocked by bad coding.
Some notes for the future:
As I mentioned, this is the final of the large system updates. That means that for the remainder of the v0.3 milestone, development will be focused on smaller content updates that DON'T involve hundreds of hours of environmental modeling and 50k words of dialogue (I cannot even express how much time I wasted on environments over the last six months...). I've already finalized what the next update will entail, and it's lots and lots of progress with Lani (LOTS) and a total overhaul of the (now very obviously broken) battle system. This is also not intended to be an update that takes months to complete since it's just the usual visual novel stuff: posing, animating, rendering, and writing. My current hope is to have it finished within the next six to eight weeks.
As always, thanks for playing. Cheers.

one question what the fuck is with the worldending thing in game information? i feel like one wrong move and the world is gonna explode.
Quick question, if I purchase the game right now on itch.io do I need to pay everytime it is updated?
I've downloaded this game like 4 or 5 times over the last 2 years and I feel like at this point I should pay for it, but I can't really afford for it to be a recurring cost.
I just checked, it appears that I did not receive a code :(
Hm... maybe it fell into spam for too long and got deleted? Send a mail over to sprinting.cucumber.studio@gmail.com using the email that you paid with and I'll send another one over to you.
It's possible, but I'm not sure lol. I'll send that email right now, sorry for taking so long, I haven't been on this site in a couple weeks.
Hee Cucumber do you got your own official Discord channel of your rewind game
Sure do. Link is here: https://discord.gg/yJrPhrZcFg
Hey Cucumber :) thanks for the love and update, I was alittle worried about the status of the project to be honest but didn't wanna be bothersome in the Discord chat. Tell wifey we say hi! Glad things are all planned out I know dungeons was a huge challenge. And Woot more Lani!! Every one loves Lani!! Totally best girl!!! ♡
Stay safe and again thanks for giving out the code!
