Excuse me mates, does anyone know about Lani's event where when we fight twice, she will appear in the bedroom, but for some reason I can't find it in this latest version I'm afraid this is a bug or there is something I don't know, thank you.
Honestly I kind of wish there was an option so that we could only choose one of the two girls like say I'm sorry but I only love XYZ as a sister and not as a potential lover or romance partner because I can't stand marla she's a bit too conniving and manipulative for my taste and honestly a massive turn off oh and also she's way too pushy but everything else is fucking amazing you rarely ever see games that use time travel as a mechanic and honestly I love that about this game like once you die you can easily be reset back from the start and learn from the experience of failing by resetting you back to the beginning of the day and after a certain amount of days it says that you died and puts you back at the first day of the game and you can basically learn how to speed run the game that way which is another part of the game that I actually do enjoy and also the whole item box thing that you can basically store a single item or two items or three items depending on what playthrough you've gone through so far there's so many good things about this game but the one thing I can't stand is Marla and she's my only complaint about the game everyone and everything else fucking amazing
Without an error screen/message, I can't give you a permanent answer for this. Players have told me that launching the game through JoiPlay has solved similar problems, so I recommend trying that out.
1) I'm unable to get the date with Lani that the guide I'm using talks about - and I noticed your reply to a comment below about the requirements. I'm on my 19th life and have never seen this event as far as I can tell. I have only ever been able to spar with Lani twice. In fact this event (the 2nd in the Lani Hints page) is one of only two I've not been able to trigger (the other is the dungeon tent event that requires "a certain set of titles")
2) I'm also finding it hard to unlock some of Marla's events, the ones that start with her daring you to hold your breath. The first time she asked I was too low level and passed out, then after a few deaths I managed to pass the test but still pass out afterwards, but I after this she doesn't ask me again
3) how does the Challenger title work, does it require you to fight mobs above your level, or does it work with mobs below your level? What are the "penalties" that are reduced by the title?
4) How do you raise Magic Proficiency stat? I have level 10 Light skill but only 6 in MP
1) So, the date is a story event and not part of the replays (mostly because it's not an intimate scene). Here are the exact requirements for the date with Lani at the guild:
- Had the conversation in the initial massage scenes and agreed to have the date (available at the first massage scene after the second spar, not available if already slept with Lani). - Lani is in your party. - Lani's level is more than 1 (so she's fought with you at least once).
The only block is that it skips this initial relationship scene if you're already intimate and moves you directly into later scenes.
On the other hand, the second event in the hint page is the continuation of the massage scenes, which is really poorly worded in this version of the game. I changed the wording a little in the recent premium release, but I still try to be a little vague... anyway, here are the requirements for that scene:
- The first massage is forced after your second sparring victory, but no additional scenes are triggered until other requirements are met. - Additional massage scenes are triggered at a 15% chance in the evenings if Lani is in your party, and Lani has moved far enough in camping content (scene 5 of the normal tent or scene 2 of the dungeon tent). - Once the additional massage scenes trigger, they follow a standard progression. 2 shoulder scenes, then the final scene is available after Lani's affection reaches 250. - The game jumps directly to the final scene if you've slept with Lani.
Upon some inspection, that jump may be making it quite difficult to get... the game uses label markers to know if you've seen a specific scene for the purposes of replays, and it looks like that label is skipped if you access the last massage scene outside of the standard progression.
To unlock the scene directly, you can use a console command (assuming you're on PC). Just open the console (shift + O) and type in: renpy.mark_label_seen('lani_massage_choice')
I'll make a correction to allow the other methods to also unlock the scene, but that will need to be in later versions.
2) Challenger lowers the damage restrictions that are added when fighting enemies that are higher level than the player. There are some pretty heavy debuffs on damage dealt in the beginning, and the maximum title level removes all of those calculations, and adds on a 50% buff when fighting enemies higher than your level. (The damage reductions are exponential, hence the strange wording in the title descriptions.)
In order to improve the title (and lower the restrictions), you need to defeat an enemy higher than your average party level (so if Lani is 1 and Liam is 19, the average party level is 10). The higher over your level the enemy is, the higher the title will develop, with the maximum title level earned after defeating an enemy 45 levels over your own.
Note, you only need to defeat one enemy of that level difference. The game doesn't currently make any use of the number of enemies of various levels you've killed.
Thanks for the Lani info, it sounds like this is event is later than I expected it, the guide I was following made it seem much sooner:

Join Guild and go on a mission
Ask Lani to join party
Take Lani to Guild

There's a note on that last tip that reads "Special scene if you ask for a date, then see them in Marla’s Room the next evening (Before the date happens)"

Also, re: Challenger, it seems the only way to get the top rank is to raise stats as much as possible before doing any fights (i.e before chicken fight) and then go straight to the 4-star dungeon and rely on Light magic skills to beat mobs, I will try this on my next life.
Any tips on raising Magic Proficiency? I edited my original comment so you may not have seen that question.
OK so re: the Challenger challenge: it turns out that you specifically coded a death scene in which the Goddess of Time says "I can't believe you tried a 4-star dungeon when you were only level 1"... touché.
I thought I was being really clever to save-scum until I got a key door and a level 60 giant metal slime, but then, despite putting a bunch of points into Intelligence, my Light Spear spell did 2 damage...
There are a few methods, but this is the most common. Most players that go for this tend to keep Lani at low levels and then go into the key door in the 4 star dungeon. If you haven't, you can collect the Eyes of the Unknown from the succubus dungeon to help with exp management. Once you get challenger to level 7 or 8, the high level light spells should be enough to kill the metal slimes. Just remember that the average party level is what matters, so you can still get it with Liam level 30 and lani at level 1.
The guide you have was probably written before the affection stat was added. I changed some progression relatively recently.
For magic, it's intentionally limited until the academy is added (so it's not possible to get the max title in the magician title sequence right now) . The only way to get magic points is by reading the books in the library. If you haven't, you also get them the first time you read the monster books all the way through (you get intelligence on subsequent readings).
I am trying to get as much training done as possible before heading to the dungeon, and I was hoping that I could kill the chicken to get the extra stats, but even without Lani in my party she gets bonus stats from its death - surely this must be a bug?
PS while I have your attention, can I suggest an improvement? The Soul Box needs to be populated with the items you chose the last time you died, and you need to add the ability to remove items.
PPS also the ability to buy a few potions at a time, the slider is set way too high: the least amount of minor potions I can buy is 88 and no one needs to buy 39k of them which is the max

Yes. I was just recently looking into how to handle that sort of thing. I have email addresses as part of the itch logs, so I can at least send an email with download links to people who have supported the game in the past. I did a similar thing when we increased price a few years back, giving people credit for the amount they previously paid so that they only needed to pay the difference.
Honestly, that would likely cover most of the player base, but there are always outliers (people who no longer use the same email, or purchase adult content with burner accounts, etc), so those people would need to contact me directly. I have no intention of keeping anyone from the game that has supported us in the past.
My usual release cycle has Itch release the newest version about 10 days after the first Patreon release, which would put it around August 10th. Assuming that payments remain down, I'll likely be sending download links out on that date.

Guys, before you launch the game, check it carefully, because in the game folder, I found 2 viruses. I did not find out what type of virus it is, but the antivirus itself found as many as 2 viruses in the game folder. Be careful and check for viruses.
Hi mate, these are false positives. Unfortunately, renpy games are known for this issue, and some overly zealous antivirus programs flag any executable that doesnt have a microsoft security certificate as a questionable file (this is well documented, so a quick search can verify). Every file used in the game is left unencrypted and fully visible to all players for inspection.

$temple.xp_gain() and $guild.xp_gain() also use the same system if I remember correctly.
use gods names rather than temple or guild. I believe this also works with Lani and Liam.
